Dyslexia is one of those disorders that can hold you back from getting the job that you want. There are jobs that will work very well for dyslexics though. For every handicap it creates for you, there are some equally important assets that it provides you with. If you are dyslexic and find it difficult to concentrate on certain types of jobs, you aren't thinking far enough outside the box.

Here are some of the best jobs for people with Dyslexia:

Truck Drivers

Truck drivers do have to keep some records, but the writing part is kept to a minimum. Truck driver's have the ability to make a great deal of money. If you are dyslexic and love to keep moving, truck driving might be the answer to your problems. It is hard work but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Truck driving isn't a glamorous job but it will pay the bills and then some. You also don't have to worry as much about making mistakes that could cost your job.

Firefighter

Being a firefighter is the nearly perfect job for a person with dyslexia. It is extremely hard work and takes dedication. The great part about it is that once the job is started, you don't have a choice whether to finish it or not. That is one of the main issues with having dyslexia. You won't give up because there won't be time to give up. The work is different every day and you have minimal paperwork to fill out. The problem with Dyslexics doesn't usually spill over into hands on work. It is generally written work that is affected. That is why firefighting might be just the job for you as a dyslexic person.

Photographer

Photography is a great business to be in. It is a very rewarding career and leaves little room for the chance of Dyslexia to stand in your way of great success. You can make a very good living from being a photographer. It's a fun job as well. There are many venues to be photographed. It pays to learn how to become a photographer if you are dyslexic and looking for the perfect job. There is minimal paperwork and that is usually done by someone other than the photographer.

Police Officer

Granted, there is a lot of paperwork to do when you are a police officer. Most of your time is spent on the beat though. It will keep you busy and it is ever changing. That makes it easy to follow through with what you are doing. It is a noble job that takes a lot of dedication. If you have dyslexia, this could be the best career for you.

These are just some of the jobs that are great for people with Dyslexia. You can either let Dyslexia hold you back or you can make the best of it by finding a job that better suits your "handicap". Choosing the latter will ensure your success. Choosing the former will make you a failure. The choice is yours.
